Industrial concrete flooring contractors, ‘Nationwide Concrete Flooring’ carry out a wide range of coloured concrete flooring projects throughout the country. Just recently the company have completed the installation of a concrete floor slab for an egg hatching building located in Eye, near Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.
The concrete floor slab was reinforced with fibrin XT fibres integrated at the concrete plant and constructed to a depth of 150mm and laid to a single straight fall utilising the laser screed. Nationwide’s highly experienced finishing team manually applied the Permaban mid-grey dry shake topping to the concrete slab. Dry shake coloured concrete floor toppings have many advantages-
• Long life, maintenance free surfaces
• Fast track construction
• Very low life cost and initial costs
• Chemical resistance (not acids)
• Slip resistance
• Impact and abrasion resistance
• Antistatic
The mid-grey coloured concrete flooring topping and surface hardener was powerfloated into the concrete by the ‘ride on’ powerfloat machines creating a full powerfloat finish. The completed surface was then spray cured with Nationwide’s own curing agent ‘Diamond Cure Hard’. This product seals the concrete and helps inhibit dusting.
The saw cut joints were induced the following day, this process helps to control shrinkage of the slab. The saw cuts were sealed immediately after this process using Nationwide’s Instant Seal 101 concrete slab joint sealant.
