Nationwide Concrete Flooring contractors recently carried out the design and construction of an external reinforced concrete floor slab for new client Stoelzle Flacconage, in Knottingley West Yorkshire. This project was particularly interesting as Nationwide Concrete Flooring contractors chose to recycle existing materials on site in order to minimise cost and reduce carbon emissions.
The existing brick hardcore was crushed and compacted to form the new sub base which was laid using the laser guided sub base leveller. 16mm diameter dowel bars were installed at regular centres by Nationwide Concrete Flooring contractors drilling and dowelling system in order to provide load transfer between existing and new slabs. Following this a 200mm deep steel reinforced high strength concrete slab was laid and completed with a rough pan finish.
